Which currencies are supported at MetaTrader 5

MetaTrader 5 (MT5) is a versatile trading platform that supports a wide range of currency pairs from various global markets, allowing traders to engage in forex trading and access other financial instruments. As of my last knowledge update in September 2021, MT5 supports a comprehensive list of currency pairs, including major, minor, and exotic pairs. MetaTrader 5 supports a wide variety of currencies, including:

Major currency pairs:

  • EUR/USD (Euro/US Dollar) is the most traded currency pair in the world. It is often referred to as the "King" of currency pairs.

  • USD/JPY (US Dollar/Japanese Yen) is the second most traded currency pair in the world. It is often referred to as the "Doji" of currency pairs.

  • GBP/USD (British Pound/US Dollar) is the third most traded currency pair in the world. It is often referred to as the "Pound" of currency pairs.

  • USD/CHF (US Dollar/Swiss Franc) is the fourth most traded currency pair in the world. It is often referred to as the "Swissy" of currency pairs.

  • AUD/USD currency pair is one of the most popular currency pairs to trade on MetaTrader 5. It is the exchange rate between the Australian dollar (AUD) and the United States dollar (USD). The AUD/USD symbol in MT5 is AUDUSD.To trade AUD/USD on MT5, you will need to open a trading account with a broker that offers MT5. Once you have opened an account, you will need to deposit funds into your account. You can then use these funds to trade AUD/USD.

Cross-currency pairs:

  • ZAR/JPY or South African Rand/Japanese Yen is a currency pair that represents the value of one South African rand (ZAR) in terms of Japanese yen (JPY). It is not one of the most popular currency pairs to trade on MetaTrader 5, but it can be a good option for 4xPip traders who are looking for a relatively low-risk trade with the potential for moderate profits.

  • Indices: Indices such as the S&P 500, the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA), and the Nikkei 225.

  • Commodities: Commodities such as gold, silver, oil, and natural gas.
